These people need advice outside of their circle. They are clearly inept. Jonathan’s circle was tight but it included some of the same people who are in the Lt Governor’s circle…. And their kids.

“Nathan Peternel told the congregation Sunday that he has not abandoned his son and continues to pray for him.”

That’s pietistic church talk. He *has* abandoned his son, seeking his own legal representation, even though he hasn’t been charged with a crime, but not doing the same for his son. He could easily pay the $2,500 for his son’s pre-trial release as well. Nathan has made a very prosperous yet dubious living in a calling which should not lead to such wealth. Just check out his additional yellow sports car, just for starters.

I’m not defending or advocating for Jonathan Peternel in the slightest, and believe justice should be served, but Nathan can’t honestly say, with tears in his eyes, that he hasn’t abandoned his son.

Honestly, I think Nathan’s abandonment of Jonathan has everything to do with Nathan being angry about how Jonathan’s arrest has led to so much public scrutiny and revelations about Nathan. Nathan was enjoying the power, prestige, and possessions his position afforded him, and now all of that is in jeopardy. He’s not concerned about Jonathan or his victims, as is evidenced by his utter lack of support for his son, but is angry at Jonathan for how this all has impacted him, as none of these past stories and allegations would have come out of the darkness into the light otherwise, which Nathan would understand if he ever studied Scripture in a seminary (Luke 8:17).

I would love for Nathan to prove me and others wrong, but he has to come clean and answer these and other questions to man-up and take responsibility.

Nathan claims his personal pictures and videos were password protected, and that Jonathan not only hacked his files, but emphasized Jonathan was “high” when he did so. That’s a very dubious detail to add, that Jonathan didn’t simply hack his password protected files, but did so while he was “high.”

How does that work? Typically being “high” would make such an already difficult task even harder, if not impossible. I’m curious about this additional detail. Was it observed to make his son out to be even worse? That Jonathan not only hacked his files, but was high when he did so. Was it to deflect from what Nathan clearly seems to feel guilty about, having made such a collection, by making Jonathan’s deed even worse?

I've got a ton of questions, my sense is that Nathan in particular doesn't feel like he has to address any of this stuff in public. But the horse is out of the barn, toothpaste out of tube, et al. The whole audio is very interesting, to me it sounds clearly lawyered (which would make sense under the circumstances)

Nathan refuses to come face to face with the multitudes of FACTS, 100% truthful situations, of many families abused under his leadership. These are NOT accusations and twisted as he says. Notice he does not admit to anything people have brought to his attention. Pride. He is a master manipulator and controller with Scripture and his charismatic words. Do not be deceived. As lead pastor, he is over Eagle Creek Life Church which multiple families have been abused through those pastors, his sister and brother-in-law, as well and Nathan has done nothing. I am speaking from personal experience. They try to silence the lambs in order to stay in control.

"In this instance I did not prioritize the law of love over the law of man, and I wish I would have." I am so confused by this on so many levels. Where is there a law of love written in the Bible? And if he wishes he had chosen it in instance, why does he not choose God's law now? Why is he still choosing his own wants? He regrets, he's sorry, but he isn't willing to step down and obey God. It's so ugh. If he cared about the division, about not making people choose between supporting him and following God, why doesn't he step down? I hear absolutely zero love in this, it's purely an excuse and a plea to people to accept his sin and bury it. That isn't love, that is deceit and is hurting his entire congregation. There is zero integrity in what he is saying or doing.
