Updates and thanks before unplugging for the holiday
Hey friends, sending a quick note of thanks to you, the 24sight News family, ahead of the holiday.
I’m growing steadily here and am grateful to the many paying subscribers who have signed up through the first year (big anniversary coming up in January!) I’m expanding offerings and continuing to work the field, I just got credentialed to cover the inauguration and am back in the halls of Congress regularly.
That said, to the many loyal readers who enjoy my work and find it useful, but haven’t ponied up, support me with a paid subscription. $5/month, $50/year.
With the legacy media struggling and the old moors of objective journalism under assault by myriad forces (including many tech companies which once posed as friends) and the rise of news “influencers” flooding cellphones with half-cooked or flat-out wrong stories, I’m more committed than ever to independent journalism as a means of repair and renewal. The folks I talk with offline repeatedly tell me they just want to know what’s going on in the world around them. I write this newsletter the same way my friends and I talk about things.
