Biden listening to 'Lord Almighty' on whether to stay in the race
Peppered by ABC News' George Stephanopoulos on if he should step down, President Joe Biden said the answer will come from God, not polls
President Joe Biden said Friday the only one who can tell him whether to stay in the race or step aside is God, in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.
Pressed repeatedly by Stephanopoulos about his poor performance in a raft of national polls following last week’s debate with former president Donald Trump and a retinue of Democrats calling for him to step aside or risk losing the country to a dictator, Biden said he’d only listen to God.
“If the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race. But the Lord Almighty’s not coming down,” Biden said.
